Christmas Cookie Exchange with the Neighbors

We are very fortunate to have a pretty cool group of people who live in the cul de sac near us. On Saturday night this past weekend we did a Cookie Exchange. Everyone was to bake at least a dozen cookies and you could take a dozen cookies home. I baked snickerdoodles (in the green tuperware) and some ornament cupcakes (with the help of my husband). We also ate hotdogs, roasted marshmellows and had a great time "hanging out" with everyone.
This is (from left to right) Keith, Pete, Sheri, and Narisa in the red. Pete is a retired army guy who is here doing contract work. They live directly next to us with their 18 yr/old daughter. Narisa is married to a Navy guy and has two cute kids who are 3 and 1. Our cupcakes......We baked 24 cupcakes (strawberry cupcakes with vanilla frosting) The plan was to decorate all 24 until we realized how labor intensive it was to decorate them. Colby did about 3 and walked out the kitchen. Not bad for our first time. I bought a book.....I thought it was fun!

This is Mark Thomas and his wife Kristin. Mark is a general surgery resident who used to work in San Diego with Colby as well. Kristin is a teacher who teaches math at one of the high schools. They are the only other couple in the cul de sac without children. All the neighbors are always hounding us or them to have a baby.
This is Victoria and Marty. Victoria has three girls 9, 10, and 11 yrs old. Marty has three children 14, 10, and 3 I believe and is married to Keith in the above picture. They are all great kids and always love to play with Chili. Two of Victoria's children come knock on our door occasionally to take her for a walk.

I will repeat we are very fortunate to have good neighbors who all look out for each other and enjoy doing things like this. Not everyone in our neighborhood is as friendly as those of us living near us. Our friends sometimes walk over and hang out with us in our cul de sac b/c theirs is not as friendly!
